WEARING JEANS FOR PINE TREE HOSPICE — Staff of the Dover-Foxcroft Care & Comfort office recently donated proceeds from Jean Day to Pine Tree Hospice. From left is Pine Tree Hospice Executive Director Jane Stitham, Debbie Webber MEd, LCPC Care & Comfort, Lee Jellison, COO Care & Comfort and Susan Giguere, founder and CEO Care & Comfort.

“Just as the mental health care and home health care services we provide are vital to thousands throughout Maine each year so are hospice services,” said Susan D. Giguere CEO and founder of Care & Comfort. She added, “This region is so fortunate to have Pine Tree Hospice, one of less than 70 volunteer hospice programs in the entire U.S., providing family-centered  support and care for the whole family during a difficult time. Our employees have my heartfelt gratitude for their kindness and generosity in selecting this group that provides services free of charge and relies primarily on funding from grants and donations. With this check we not only recognize Pine Tree Hospice as part of the regions health care network, we want it to also honor and thank the over 90 volunteers who provide the services”
During the check presentation event Pine Tree Hospice Executive Director Jane Stitham provided insight to their program and expressed appreciation to Care & Comfort and their staff. “Pine Tree Hospice is extremely thankful their gift and the support given to our program. They understand its importance and the benefits hospice patients and their families receive. The commitment and efforts of this group to Pine Tree Hospice will certainly help us with our mission and vision. ” Stitham said.
Care & Comfort’s Jean Fund is an ongoing collaborative fundraising effort between the company and its administrative employees. Every Friday is Jean Day when the staff may leave their normal work attire at home and wear jeans for a $2 donation. The company matches every dollar raised and the employees of each branch select the local beneficiary semi-annually.
