    THEY ARE THE CHAMPIONS — The Dexter Regional High School cheering team is the 2013 Class C East champions as the squad picked up a score of 125 points, ahead of second-place Sumner’s 118.8, during the Jan. 26 competition at the Bangor Auditorium.

Dexter won the regional title for the second year in a row and advances to the state competition in Bangor on Saturday, Feb. 9 as one of the top 12 Class C schools from across Maine.

PATRIOT PRIDE — Penquis Valley High School’s cheering team finished in 11th place with a score of 79. 3 points at the Class C East finals Jan. 26 in Bangor. Members of the Patriot squad include Justice Black, Taylor Severance, Haley Knowles, Mindy Downing, Liz Holler, Zoe Barry, Anna Rideout, Becca Glidden, Alyssa Murano, Emery Tarnoczy, Erica Bowden, Chelsey Gerrish, Emily Gerrish and head coach Tammy Murano.
