The two had another dozen rounds between them before Victoria correctly spelled juxtapose to win the bee. She received $50 and a trophy for finishing in first place, while Santagata won $25 and will serve as the alternate for the State Bee. Among the bee participants were front, from left, fifth-graders Ava Rayfield, Maren O’Connell, Noah Lamb and Cameron Blakely.
