Annual bird count Dec. 30

    DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Audubon Christmas Bird Count will be held in the Dover-Foxcroft area on Monday, Dec. 30. People interested in birds and nature are welcome to join in.
    If you are interested, we will meet at McDonald’s as near to 7 a.m. as possible and organize there. Then we will go out for the day. Persons able to go for part of the day are welcome. Just give Charles Dorchester a call at 884-8322 or come to McDonald’s at 7 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 30 to join with us. If you have binoculars, please bring them. We will observe and count as many species and numbers as we encounter. Many hardy kinds of birds choose to winter in Dover-Foxcroft!

    Persons with feeders are important to this count. You can report what you see during the day on Monday, Dec. 30, to Ruth French at 564-7434. It is best to call around 4 p.m. or after to report what you have seen.
