Greenville Fire Department earns SHAPE Award from Maine Department of Labor

GREENVILLE – The Greenville Fire Department will be recognized for receiving the Maine Department of Labor’s Safety and Health Award for Public Employers (SHAPE) at a selectmen’s meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 18. The award will be presented to Chief Matthew St. Laurent at the town office, 7 Mindon St.

The Safety and Health Award for Public Employers (SHAPE) recognizes public sector employers who maintain an exemplary safety and health management system. Public sector employers include the state, county, municipal and quasi-municipal, as well as public educational facilities.

“Acceptance into SHAPE by the Maine Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Standards is an achievement that recognizes the organization as a model for workplace safety and health,” Commissioner Laura Fortman said. “Congratulations to the Greenville Fire Department for its dedication to the safety and health of its employees.”
