Center Theatre to sponsor free public skate Nov. 29

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Piscataquis County Ice Arena announced that the Center Theatre is sponsoring a free public skating session at the arena from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 29. Members of the cast of the upcoming production of “Little Women” will be on hand in Victorian costume to skate and help with the evening. Skates will be available for rental from the arena will also have the concessions stand open for snacks.

“The public is welcome to come skate or come watch the skating from our mezzanine,” said Matthew Spooner, manager of the arena. “When Patrick Myers at the Center Theatre suggested sponsoring a public skate with the ‘Little Women’ cast in costume, we were all for it. We can’t wait to see those hoop skirts gliding around the ice.”

The Center Theatre’s production of “Little Women the Broadway Musical,” is currently in rehearsals with opening night scheduled for Dec. 13. Tickets for the show are now on sale at the Center Theatre, at www.CenterTheatre.org or by calling the Theatre at 564-8943.
