GFWC/Miosac Club celebrates Christmas

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Seventeen members of GFWC/Miosac Club gathered on Tuesday, Dec. 3 for their annual Christmas party.  Hostesses Diane Leighton and Minnie McCormick served colorful party fare on tables festively decorated  with ornaments and hand crafted Santas.
Diane Leighton read a poem written by Martha Green (now Rollins)  followed  by singing of Christmas Carols.

MIOSAC CELEBRATION — Minnie McCormick (left) and Diane Leighton, hostesses for the Miosac Club Christmas party, stand by the decorated tree at Thayer Parkway.

Members were asked to get the gift they had bought and present it to the person whose name they had drawn.  This was a new way of giving out Christmas gifts and members enjoyed it very much.
Items that members purchased for the Kiwanis Community Christmas were on display and the club was able to purchase items for three children.
The next meeting of the GFWC/Miosac Club will be Tuesday, Jan. 7 with Sue Mackey Andrews as speaker. Hostesses will be Vicki Moschella and Brenda Quiet.
