Exploring the Grief Journey with Pine Tree Hospice

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Growing Through Grief is one of Pine Tree Hospice’s bereavement programs for adults. The Growing Through Grief program begins with a facilitated grief support group which is then followed by a presentation or workshop.

The November program on Tuesday, Nov. 19 is Exploring the Grief Journey, with Ardie Hacker. Hacker will discuss ways in which we look at and learn from the feelings of grief we have, whether from a loss recently, or in the past. Hacker will use a program that will assist in organizing thoughts and feelings about grief and its effects.

Knowing you aren’t alone and that there are others who share the pain of loss can be comforting; being able to talk about your pain can be very healing. Many people find comfort by sharing their feelings of pain, emotions and thoughts in a group setting, or just quietly listening. This facilitated grief support group is a place you may find solace.

Growing Through Grief meets on the third Tuesday of each month, September through May, from 1-3 p.m. in Dover-Foxcroft. The grief support group, presentation and delicious dessert are free of charge. Participants must pre-register by calling Pine Tree Hospice at 564-4346.
