New England stone walls program Aug. 8

DEXTER — Have you ever wondered about the stone wall you found when walking through the woods? Have you questioned why anyone would build a wall in the woods? Many of your questions will be answered on Thursday, Aug. 8 at the Abbott Museum on Church Street in Dexter. Kevin Gardner of Hopkinton, New Hampshire will present a program on the history of New England stone walls.

Gardner is an author, actor and experienced dry stone wall builder who has travelled extensively in New England presenting his program. While the audience listens, Gardner will create a stone wall (in miniature) before their eyes. This is a free program being hosted by the Dexter Historical Society and sponsored by the Abbott Memorial Library. For more, please call 924-7292.
