SeDoMoCha summer food program returns

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The summer food service program, sponsored by the RSU 68 food service program, returns this year from mid-June to mid-August at the SeDoMoCha School — 63 Harrison Avenue. All children under 18 are welcome for free breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday with breakfast served from 8-9 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to noon. All meals must be eaten on site, and no application is needed.

The summer lunch program kicks off on Tuesday, June 18 with a celebration. The event features the Frog Town Puppeteers at 10 a.m. as well as Mayo Regional Hospital and the Dover-Foxcroft fire and police departments having exhibits from 11 a.m. to noon. The kickoff will include face painting, balloon animals, games and ice cream.

Events will accompany lunch on Thursdays for much of the summer. The scheduled includes My Wild Fern “Sea Shell Dreamcatchers” starting at 10:30 a.m. on June 27; a Mayo Regional Hospital program on ticks at 10:45 a.m. on July 11; Dyan McCarthy-Clark’s story telling at 10:30 a.m. on July 18; a Mayo Regional Hospital program on bones at 10:45 a.m. on July 25;

Thompson Free Library program on book making at 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 1; a Chewonki Foundation program with live owls on Aug. 8 with presentations at 10:10 and 11:30 a.m. (space is limited); and Mayo Regional Hospital’s teddy bear clinic at 10:45 a.m. on Aug. 16.
