Greening of the world’s deserts

DEXTER — Stopping desert encroachment is a worldwide problem. Allan Savory, a research biologist and resource management consultant, has worked for decades to develop sustainable solutions. His methodology of what he calls “holistic management” has had some positive results.

On Friday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. the Dexter Dover Area Towns in Transition (DDATT) will present Savory’s June TED global conference talk on greening of the world’s deserts. A discussion on his solutions will follow viewing the talk.
DDATT’s First Friday event will take place at the Abbott Memorial Library’s Meeting Room. For more information, contact 277-4221 or e-mail info@ddatt.org.
