Center Theatre raffling life-time movie pass

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Center Theatre recently announced that for the first time in its history, Theatre officials are raffling off a life-time movie pass. The pass will allow the winner to attend any movie at the Center Theatre for free for the life of the pass holder.

Patrick Myers, the Center Theatre’s executive director, said while the pass is non-transferable, the winner may designate someone else to be named on the pass. “We wanted to make sure someone could give it as a gift if they wanted,” Myers said. “So if John Doe won the raffle, he could give the pass to Jane as a gift. However, once the winner or their designee receives the pass they will be the only one who is able to use it for the rest of their life.”

Myers said there are a few other stipulations about the pass, “Sometimes we rent the Theatre to an outside party for a movie. In that case, it would be up to the renter as to whether they wanted to honor the lifetime pass. We also want to make clear that having a lifetime pass doesn’t guarantee you a seat. If a movie is sold out and the lifetime pass holder hasn’t gotten their ticket yet, they will have to wait till the next show.”

Myers said the raffle is a fundraiser for the Theatre and their mission of making arts, culture, education and entertainment accessible to our rural communities. The Theatre is only selling 250 tickets for the raffle, so once the tickets are gone, they’re gone. The drawing for the raffle will take place on May 12 at the intermission for the final performance of “Seussical, Jr.” but raffle holders do not have to be present to win.

Raffle tickets can be purchased from members of the Center Theatre Board of Directors, online at CenterTheatre.org, in person at the Center Theatre box office at 20 East Main Street in Dover-Foxcroft or over the phone at 564-8943.
