Mayo sponsors free ski day for employees and families

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Mayo Regional Hospital launches its inaugural employee ski day at Big Squaw Mountain in Greenville Junction on Saturday, Feb. 23.

In an ongoing effort to encourage staff and community health and fitness, Mayo Regional Hospital is sponsoring a day of free skiing for Mayo employees and their families. “Get out and Get Active” is this year’s theme.

The ski day is a Mayo Employee, Community Appreciation and Wellness (MECAW) initiative. The group, made up of Mayo employees, plans events throughout the year including employee barbeques, employee of the quarter, Wellness week, and community events such as town parades, and a community movie night.

“We are delighted to be able to offer this benefit to our team and their families. Supporting health and fitness at all levels in the Mayo community is a priority,” said James Godley, vice president of human resources at Mayo Regional Hospital.

The MECAW committee plans to continue this employee benefit program on an annual basis.
