Road race results

    Timothy Leland, 45 of Sangerville, ran in the 36th annual MDI YMCA Bar Harbor Bank & Trust Half Marathon on Sept. 21.

Leland covered the 13.1 miles in 1 hour, 56 minutes and 1 second to finish 135th out of a field of 331.
    In the third annual MAINEiacs Charity-Half Marathon in Bangor on Sept. 29, Foxcroft Academy graduate Jerod Hayes, 24 of Hallowell, came in second out of 155 runners with a time of 1:17.21 — trailing only the 1;16.14 for 21-year-old Jaron Jones of Orono.
    Also running the half marathon was Katie Poirier, 24 of Harmony, who came in 110th at 2:10.43 and Judy Snow, 58 of Dover-Foxcroft, 118th at 2:12.33
    Cooper Nelson, 15 of Dover-Foxcroft, won the MAINEiacs Charity 5K on Sept. 29. Nelson’s time of 19:42 gave him the victory by 50 seconds as he was first in a field of 138 entrants.
    The 5K also included Jeff Nelson, 47 of Dover-Foxcroft, who was 12th at 24:11; Avery Nelson, 13 of Dover-Foxcroft, 114th at 47:06; and Leslie Nelson, 43 of Dover-Foxcroft, 115th at 47:07.
