New street lights have yielded a better looking Dover-Foxcroft

To the Editor;
Last night Oct. 1, the residents and travelers on West Main Street and other locales were treated to a peaceful softly lit streetscape, stars could be seen, and a new ambience was created. It was relaxing and a nice way to end a day. What was different than the previous day? The new street lights were installed and ignited. Not only is the fixture design fitting for a community that cherishes its past, the lighting as previously stated, was superb. While some may quarrel with the reduced intensity and color from the previous lights whatever they are giving up, if anything, is markedly offset with the new lights. Plus, the town (me and you) are saving tax dollars in reduced electrical charges.

Town Manager Jack Clukey and those who participated in the surveys and offered comments deserve KUDOS. Their comments and the manager’s initiative have yielded a better looking Dover-Foxcroft.
