LITTLE RED SCHOOL HOUSE — Members and guests of the Abbot Historical Society held the monthly meeting Aug. 28 at the Little Red School House in upper Abbot. The building has recently been purchased by Brian and Julie Hanscom and the new owners are in the process of repairing and restoring this old landmark. Estella Bennett, secretary of the society, found her grandmother’s name written in the closet! Many memories were shared of days when the building was used to educate Abbot scholars, then as a 4-H Club house and a town hall and voting station. Pictured are front, from left, Barbara Pride, Julie Hanscom, Beth Weymouth, Nancy Patterson, Donna Reeves and Heather Pomerleau. Back, Susan and Frank Hanscome, Cindy Page, Jane Pride, Sabrina Magee, Brian Hanscom, Tracy Stebbins, Wayne Bennett, Basil Patterson and Maynard Reeves. In attendance but not pictured were Estella Bennett and Elaine Roberts.
