Foxcroft Academy open house/post grad fair Sept. 5

DOVER-FOXCROFT — On Wednesday, Sept. 5, starting at 5:30 p.m., Foxcroft Academy will host its annual fall open house. It’s a chance for all Foxcroft Academy students and their families to see the school and get to know their teachers. In conjunction with the night, counseling services will host its third annual postgraduate fair and senior night for Foxcroft students and their parents/guardians. The purpose of the evening is to get everyone on the same page in postgraduate planning and having a chance to get needed college information all at the same time.

“We thought it could be valuable for our parents and students to have questions answered from people in the know,” said Kandi Martin, school counselor. “We want our students to get applications and information to their respective schools on time and this might make the whole process a little less hectic during a very busy year.”

Here is the schedule for the evening: 5:30-6:45 p.m. postgraduate fair for all students, grades in the gymnasium featuring Maine colleges and branches of the armed services. They will be set up and ready for students and parents to stop and ask specific questions about applications, programs, etc. Families can mingle between the open house and the postgrad fair. This event is open to Foxcroft Academy students, as well as students of Dexter, PCHS and Penquis Valley high schools.

6–7 p.m. (running concurrently with post grad fair) Foxcroft Academy open house for all families. Come and meet the faculty and staff. Find out about grading, curriculum, expectations and more.

7-8 p.m. college information session for seniors and parents/guardians of the Class of 2019 located in the gymnasium. Counselors will be discussing college applications, essays, deadlines, financial aid applications, scholarships, required forms and more. This is a time for parents and students to ask specific questions about the application process. This event is highly recommended to parents and guardians of college bound seniors. While the event is geared to Foxcroft Academy seniors and their parents/guardians, all students are welcome to attend the information night.
