MDEA arrests Brownville couple

BROWNVILLE — Maine Drug Enforcement Agents (MDEA) have arrested a couple from Brownville and charged them with selling heroin, cocaine and crack cocaine in Piscataquis County.

Working closely with the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Office, investigators assigned to MDEA’s North Central Task Force opened an investigation into the distribution of the drugs, which involved several undercover purchases of heroin, cocaine and crack cocaine from the couple’s home at 43 Page Street. A search of the house located heroin, crack cocaine and prescription pills along with over $18,000 in suspected drug proceeds.

Robert Wood, 49, and Starr Leeman, 40, have been charged with several counts of Aggravated Unlawful Trafficking of Schedule W Drugs. Wood remains at the Piscataquis County Jail in Dover-Foxcroft, and Leeman is free on $20,000 bail. The arrests took place last week.

The investigation is continuing and more arrests are possible.
