Women’s club annual high school art contest will be March 25 at Center Theatre

DOVER-FOXCROFT — This year’s General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC)/Miosac Club high school art contest will be held in the lobby of Center Theatre, beginning at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 25. Students from Foxcroft Academy, Greenville High School, the Penquis Valley School and Piscataquis Community High Schools have all been invited to participate again this year.

As in years past, the judge is local artist Suzanne East who provides positive feedback to all the students entered. Winners are awarded cash prizes and go on to compete in a district art show and then onto the state competition. Over the years many state first-place winners have started out in this local art contest.

The art will be displayed in the lobby of Center Theatre the week prior to the show for all to enjoy and to vote on a favorite piece. The winner will be awarded the People’s Choice Award during the show on Sunday. Light refreshments will be served.

Please plan on coming by the show on the 25th and support talented high school artists. If unable to attend the show, stop by the Center Theatre during the week and enjoy the art and vote for a favorite.
