FA’s Clukey places in pair of freestyles at state meet

BRUNSWICK — Foxcroft Academy senior Jenna Clukey recorded a pair of top six finishes in two freestyle races at the Class B swimming championship on Feb. 19 at Bowdoin College.

In the 50-yard freestyle Clukey swam a time of 25.73 seconds to finish sixth.

Clukey also came in fifth in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 55.85 seconds.

Between her fifth- and sixth-place performances, Clukey scored all 27 points for Foxcroft Academy to put the Ponies in 16th place among 21 schools picking up points at the state meet. Foxcroft was ahead of the 23 points for Erskine Academy of South China and just behind the Waynflete School of Portland in 15th place with a score of 31 points.

Cape Elizabeth High School claimed the 2018 girls Class B title at 351 points and in second place was Greely High School of Cumberland with 335 points and in third was Mount Desert Island High School at 223 points.
