ORONO — The Foxcroft Academy girls indoor track and field team finished eighth among a field of eight schools — with no score — at a Jan. 29 Penobscot Valley Conference/Eastern Maine Indoor Track League meet at the University of Maine.

Sophomores Sadie Avellar and Cheyanne Skomars were 10th and 12th in both the 55 prelims and the 200. In the 55 Avellar had a time of 9.21 seconds and Skomars’ was 9.44 seconds, and in the 200 the two finished in 34.35 seconds and 36.40 seconds respectively.

Avellar came in 21st in the long jump with a distance of 10 feet, 4.75 inches and Skomars was 25th at 9-01.25.

The Foxcroft boys were ninth of nine teams with no score.

Freshman Lucas Ronco placed ninth in the 55 hurdle prelims at 10.98 seconds. He also came in 22nd in both the 200 and long jump at 30.56 seconds and 13-00.50.

Among sprinters in the 55 prelims, sophomore Hunter Clarke finished ninth with a time of 7.64 seconds while classmate Cole Edgerly was 16th at 8.07 seconds.

Clarke and Edgerly came in 12th and 19th in the 200 with respective times of 27.47 seconds and 29.84 seconds.
