Ponies swim at Ellsworth

ELLSWORTH — The Foxcroft Academy swim team was on the road Jan. 12 with a dual meet against Ellsworth High School. The Pony girls fell by a score of 114-38 and the host Eagle boys won 129-22.

In the girls’ meet, Foxcroft’s Jenna Clukey won the 100 butterfly in a time of 1 minute, 7.31 seconds. She also earned first-place honors in the 50 freestyle at 26.91 seconds.

Clukey was part of two second-place relay teams. She anchored the 200 free relay which finished in a time of 2:01.23. The Foxcroft 200 medley relay came in second at 2:17.14.

Chloe Waugh was the meet runner-up in the 100 backstroke in a time of 1:17.95. She also came in third in the 200 free at 2:31.61.

Emily Curtis was third in the 50 free at 30.34 seconds and third in the 100 free at 1:05.68.

Placing fourth in the 100 breaststroke was Abby Henderson in 1:32.09. She also came in fifth in the 50 free at 31.58 seconds.

Amy Waugh was fifth in both the 100 free and 100 back with respective times of 1:20.52 and 1:30.04. Nyla Larrabee was sixth in the 100 free at 1:30.65.

In the boys’ meet, Noah Contreras was the 100 free runner-up with a time of 1:00.50. He also was part of two third-place relay squads and was fourth in the 50 free at 26.56 seconds.

Triston Green, Andy Yu, Contreras and Samuel Gidman combined for a time of 2:16.96 in the 200 medley relay. Gidman, Green, Hunter Demp and Contreras were third in the 200 free relay at 2:02.86.

Kemp came in third in the 200 free at 2:35.24 as well as placing fifth in the 100 back at 1:19.49.
Green finished fourth in the 100 back at 1:16.83 and fifth in the 50 free at 30.06 seconds.

Yu had two fourth-place swims, in the 500 free with a time of 7:06.49 and in the 100 breast at 1:28.12.

Gidman rounded out the scoring for Foxcroft by placing fifth in the 100 free at 1:10.99 and coming in sixth in the 50 free with a time of 31.35 seconds.
