    ORONO — The Foxcroft Academy indoor track team was in action on Jan. 12 during an Eastern Maine Indoor Track League meet at the University of Maine. The Pony boys scored 56 points to place fourth out of seven teams, while the Foxcroft girls were fifth of seven schools with 29 points.

    Senior Donald Boyer and junior Ryan Wang both had first-place finishes for Foxcroft. Boyer won the 55 hurdles with a time of 7.90 seconds and Wang had the fastest time in the 55 at 6.87 seconds.

    The two were second and third in the 400 as Wang ran a time of 53.97 seconds and Boyer was right behind at 54.40 seconds. Boyer came in third in the long jump at 18 feet, 3 inches and Wang was fourth in the 200 at 24.69 seconds.

    Foxcroft also had points from the two relay squads. The 4×200 team came in third at 1:44.21, and was comprised of senior Alex Stevens, sophomore Justin Diamond and seniors Jacob LaBree and Jasper Thompson. In fourth place was the 4×800 relay as sophomore Julian Zepeda, sophomore Noah Simpson and freshmen James Smith and Abraham Simpson combined for a time of 10:09.86.

    Stevens added a fifth-place finish in the triple jump, as he had a distance of 33-10.25.

    In the girls meet, junior Mia Smith won the pole vault by clearing 6-06. She also anchored the fourth-place 4×800 relay — joining sophomore Fern Morrison, junior Liza Grigoryeva and senior Lydia Zepeda for a time of 11:58.60 — and she was fifth in the long jump at 11-11.75.

    Morrison came in second in the 800 at 2:32.47 and she placed sixth in the 55 at 8.43 seconds. Grigoryeva finished fifth in the mile at 6:35.55, and freshman Desirae Brawn came in fifth in the shot put with a throw of 24.07.
