HJ Crosby Community Band to perform free holiday concert Dec. 17

DEXTER — The Harold J. Crosby Community Band of Dexter wants to wish the community a happy holiday season. To show the band’s appreciation for the support the town of Dexter and surrounding communities have given, the group will be performing a holiday concert, free to all, at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 17 at the Dexter Town Hall.

The band will be providing refreshments for the cabaret concert to enjoy while attendees listen to the band’s “Sleigh Ride” concert featuring “Holiday Sleigh Ride,” “Runaway Sleigh” and “Minka’s Sleigh Ride,” plus a Crosby March, traditional Christmas music and a Christmas carol sing-a-long. The public is invited to celebrate the holiday season and the support of the local towns and villages in helping the band accomplish its mission of providing opportunities for local musicians to play music for the enjoyment of those communities.

Immediately following the holiday concert, join the Harold J. Crosby Community Band as members continue the holiday celebration at the First Baptist Church of Dexter for the Christmas Cantata at 3 p.m. — a glorious telling of the Christmas Story.
