Partners for Peace offering art-based support group in D-F

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Partners for Peace, the domestic violence resource center formerly known as Spruce Run-Womancare Alliance, will provide an art-based support group for anyone affected by domestic abuse or violence. The group will meet at the Partners for Peace Mechanic Street office starting on Tuesday, Aug. 1 from 1–3 p.m. for four consecutive weeks.

“Participants don’t necessarily have to know anything about art,” said Suzie Boutilier, co-facilitator of the art group. “The purpose of this group is for individuals to gain empowerment and utilize creativity to give voice to their experiences of abuse.”

All art supplies are provided and childcare is available. “We are looking forward to see what our participants create and what we are all able to discover about ourselves throughout the process,” said Boutilier.

Space is limited. Interested individuals can call 564-8166 or email partnersforpeaceme@partnersforpeaceme.org.
