All five Foxcroft Academy field hockey seniors to play at the next level

DOVER-FOXCROFT — While they will not be teammates anymore in the fall, all five members of the Class of 2013 on this past season’s Foxcroft Academy field hockey team will still be playing as the quintet continues their athletic careers in college.

Cousins Lindsey Arno and Whitney Arno will be playing for Div. III Husson University of Bangor — joining Lindsey’s sister Mariah Arno a 2010 Foxcroft Academy graduate who will be a senior during the 2013 season; Gabi Henderson will play for Div. III Simmons College in Boston; Monica Miles will play for Div. II St. Michael’s College in Colchester, Vt.; and Tia Tondreau will play for Div. III Salve Regina University in Newport, R.I.
Lindsey Arno, Whitney Arno, Henderson, Miles and Tondreau have been friends since kindergarten, and the five have played field hockey together since they were in sixth grade. Once they got to Foxcroft Academy the players helped the Ponies reach the Eastern Maine finals in three of their four seasons. The Ponies defeated neighboring rival Dexter Regional High School in 2010 at Hampden Academy when the five were sophomores for the Class C East championship as Miles scored the winning goal on an overtime stroke.
