Peach commits to Husson

BANGOR – The Husson University women’s basketball program recently received a commitments from Megan Peach, who will join the program from Dexter Regional High School.

Peach is a 6-foot center who scored 1,000 points for the Tigers. She averaged 16.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocks during her senior season. Peach was a three time all-conference selection.

In the 2016-17 season, she was named the Class C North tournament MVP, played in the Maine Maine McDonald’s Senior All-Star Game and finished in the top 10 in the Miss Maine Basketball honors

“Megan is a basketball gym rat, she loves the game, she has good size and we will be looking for her to contribute offensively and on the boards,” Husson head coach Kissy Walker said.
Peach will join University of New England transfer Logan Huckins, Emma Alley of Stearns High School of Millinocket and Abby Simpson of Foxcroft Academy in the Eagles’ 2017 recruiting class.

Husson will graduate three seniors off a 23-5 squad that captured back-to-back North Atlantic Conference Championships, while recording consecutive 20-win seasons. The Eagles also won the program’s first ever NCAA tournament game by defeating DeSales 74-72.

The Husson women will open up the 2017-18 campaign at Williams College in Williamstown, Mass. for the Williams Classic tip-off.
