Panciera runs with New England’s best
NORTH EASTON, Mass. — University of Southern Maine sophomore Emily Panciera, a resident of Monson and 2011 graduate of Foxcroft Academy, took part in the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association Outdoor Track and Field Championship May 10-11 at Stonehill College. The meet featured teams in Div. I-III.
Panciera ran the second leg of the Southern Maine 4×400 relay which placed 14th and set a school record in 3 minutes, 58,54 seconds — just ahead of the old mark of 3:59.25 established on April 13. Panciera also placed 20th in the 800 in a personal best time of 2:19.21.
The Southern Maine women finished with eight points, tying Maine Div. III rivals Bowdoin and Colby Colleges with eight points to finish 27th out of 35 teams.
Panciera also took part in the ECAC Div. III Track and Field Championship May 17 in Springfield, Mass. Running in the 800, Panciera placed 23rd in a field of 37 with a time of 2:19.70. Southern Maine scored eight points at the meet, finishing in a four-way tie for 32nd place out of nearly 60 teams.
