Tiger connection at USM

    GORHAM — A trio of teammates on the Dexter Regional High School field hockey team were reunited at the University of Southern Maine in the fall. Among the players for the Huskies was junior Cristina Mountain of Dexter and freshmen Hillary Mower of Ripley and Whitney Mower of Garland.

    Mountain, a midfielder and back, played in all 21 games for USM, recording two goals and four assists.

    Hillary and Whitney Mower, cousins who play midfield and defense, each appeared in 19 games and both had an assist.

    The Huskies finished 2012 with a record of 9-12, 5-6 in Little East Conference play. USM was the seventh seed for the postseason, and fell at No. 2 Bridgewater (Mass.) State in the quarterfinals 3-0.
