ORONO — Both the Foxcroft Academy boys and girls indoor track and field teams finished fifth in a field of five schools during a Penobscot Valley Conference/Eastern Maine Indoor Track League meet on Jan. 7 at the University of Maine.
Senior sprinter Evan Chadbourne picked up all 10 of his team’s points. Chadbourne was third at 55 meters with time of 7.13 seconds. He also placed fourth in the 200 at 24.76 seconds.
Dexter Regional High School freshman Chris Roderka ran in the two-mile and while he competed as a non-scoring individual, Roderka had the meet’s best time in the event. Roderka ran the two miles in 11:18.46 to top Hermon High School freshman Ben Zapsky by approximately 61 seconds.
The Foxcroft girls also recorded 10 points on Saturday.
The top performance for the Ponies came in the 4×200 relay. Freshman Sadie Avellar, Cheyanne Skomars and Mackenzie Harmon and sophomore Jacki Pelletier combined to place third in a time of 2:14.79.
Pelletier added a pair of fourth-place sprinting performances, in the 55 and 200 with respective times of 8.46 and 31.16 seconds.
Junior Virginia Macomber came in fourth at two miles, running a time of 19:49.40.
