PCHS’ Talbot comes in third at girls wrestling championship

WINDHAM — The state’s top female grapplers from Classes A and B came together for the Maine State Girls Championship on Feb. 19 at Windham High School.

 

Gracie Talbot of Piscataquis Community High School came in third in the 220-pound division. In the consolation finals Talbot pinned Tayanne Aquino of Mountain Valley High School of Rumford at the 3:45 mark.

 

Grace McLaughlin of Foxcroft Academy reached the 132-pound consolation finals. In this round she was edged via a 4-2 decision by Kiah Wilson of Bucksport High School.

 

Rylee Harding of PCHS, 120 pounds, and Chelsei Nelson of Dexter Regional High School, 220 pounds, also competed at the girls championship.
