Pair of Penquis grads play soccer at USM

    GORHAM — Two 2014 Penquis Valley High School graduates continued their soccer careers by playing their freshmen seasons at the University of Southern Maine. Courtney Bowers and Jessica Preble, both of Milo, were backs for the Huskies and had respective jersey numbers of 14 and 15.

    Bowers played in nine games and had one start. Preble started all 16 games she appeared in, recording four shots with two on goal.
    The USM women’s soccer team finished 2014 with a record of 2-14-3, going 0-6-1 in Little East Conference play.
